Fly Design
So who am I and what makes me think that I can sell flies to you? My name is CB. And in regards to the second question, to be honest, I’m not entirely sure that I can, but maybe you’ll prove me wrong.
It’s important for me to recognize that while I have no formal training or mentors, I have taken a lot of influence, (and materials and flies), and inspiration from many people in my life, and I’m thankful to my many fishing partners over the years, including my parents, grandparents, uncles, cousins, and friends.
From a technical and design perspective, I have taken great liberty to learn from afar by way of those who I consider true masters of fly tying and design philosophy; Dave Whitlock, Helen Shaw, Tim Flagler, Bob Popovics, George Daniel, Lefty Kreh, Bob Clouser, Tim Borski, Drew Chicone, and countless others that I will always do my best to reference when influenced by their advancements.
Frankly, I could care less if you don’t use any of these flies or bugs or whatever you want to call them in your Sisyphean-esque adventures of fishing, but if in fact you do decide to trust me with supplying your arsenal, I’m going to care a whole damn lot. LSFC flies are designed - tested - adapted, and then the cycle repeats itself again. My design approach centers on one key goal…catching fish. Now if you want to pull up the metaphorical, or literal, bar stool and shell out some City-Wides for the creator here, I’m happy to talk to you ad-nauseam about the details, but for now, let’s keep things simple.
I don’t have much to give, but what I have is yours my friends…
Tight Lines! And have fun, because it’s kinda the whole damn point?!
